The Absalom Jones foundation was founded and incorporated in 1996 as part of the vision of PMWGM Thomas Jackmon. The foundation received its IRS 501(c)(3)non-prophet tax exempt status on January 16,, 1997 which enabled the foundation to receive tax deductible contributions. The primary mission of the Absalon Jones Foundation is to pattern itself after the life and legacy of Absalom Jones who helped to improve the quality of life for those in need. The foundation carries out its mission through:

• Philanthropic projects
• Youth program
• Education/training
• Scholarship programs
• Economic development
• Community development
